Joshua ch 1 v 1

Summary:

Joshua was Moses assistant and he was to be the next leader of the Israelites leading them into the promised land.
1) We see that God will never break his promises and so if we are a Christian we can know that we can never be taken away from him. Joshua is told to be strong and courageous.
2) We should meditate on Gods Word day and night. The bible is free and we should look to see what God is saying.
3) The Lord your God is with you wherever you go. We should go out and preach the gospel. We should go out and serve the Lord just as Jesus came into the world not to be served but to serve.
a) Joshua was given a leadership gift
b) Moses and Joshua obeyed the call of God
c) Joshua believed that God could do the impossible and bring them into the land.
We shouldn't fear the world outside as God is in our church and he is with us today.
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord... Is this our testimony just as it was for Joshua. He will honour those who honour him. He has promised us eternal life and a mansion in heaven. Lets make a difference to the people we meet day by day
