Samson's strength was Gods strength it wasn't his own.
1) What Samson should have been. We are being changed more and more into Christ's image. We like Samson are meant to be a light in this dark world and we should bring hope to the people we meet. Samson had a supernatural birth and so did we. The joy of our salvation grows in us since our supernatural birth. God draws us to him, we don't go looking for him. Samson was to be separate (being a Nazirite, long hair) from birth until death and this is the same for a believer. The moment we are born again we are set aside for the rest of our lives. Earth is not our final destination, we are just passing through and so we are not like the world. Our separate lives will not be complete until Jesus comes. The Holy Spirit gives us power to be a witness and even if we are not out and about we are able to pray for others. What God begins in our lives he will finish.
2) What was Samson actually? Samson killed a lion with honey inside. The devil can also tempt us. Sin is thrilling and exciting but scripture says it is only for a season. If we feed on things of the world we can end up spiritually sick. The devil can use different things to drive us away just as the women did in Samson's life. We shouldn't water down Gods Word, The Holy Spirit will bring unity in a church. Sometimes we can think that we are stronger than we are but we can do nothing by ourselves. Christians can be spiritually asleep or blind going around in circles, playing as Samson did with his hair if they do not keep a close fellowship with God.
3) What Samson became. Samson died. How much more could he have accomplished if he had remained faithful. We need to ask ourselves, Where am I? Am I doing what I should be doing and glorifying God or am I just self-centered? We could see God being glorified in our lives more and more instead of being like Samson and going around in circles
