Jesus had been busy, so he went to the other side of the lake. As Christians we can also be busy so we must be careful not to wear ourselves out doing good. We have been given our bodies from the Lord so we must look after them.
Jesus went to the other side of the lake and the disciples took him along 'just as he was' We live in an instant world where we can want the latest thing. Scripture tells us that Jesus is sufficient 'just as he is'
As Christians we can be good at cluttering up our faith. Simplicity can be key to our faith. When Jesus said follow me to the disciples he just said to them simply 'Come follow me' They all left and followed him. Simplicity in itself
So the boat journey commenced when suddenly the storm comes, not a gentle breeze but a storm. Sometimes the storms of life can hit us. Satan is real and we must not think for one minute that his power is not strong. He can attack us at any time and leave us in turmoil.
The disciples said to Jesus 'don't you care?' Being a Christian we can both doubt and trust him at the same time. Despite storms Jesus can see us through. The Word says that 'I will never leave you nor forsake you' The voice of Jesus was enough to calm the storm.
As Christians we have to learn to listen to the voice of Christ. It can come to us in many ways, sometimes in an audible voice. Whatever the storm he says I will be with you.
We live in an instant world but sometimes we have to wait on him. When the Lord does something it is perfect. He gets it right for us without fail.
God is alive today and whatever storm we are going through he is in the boat with us and the important thing is that he loves us.
We are not alone, we have someone we can depend on. He loves us, he can provide for us and wants the best for us.
